Hi (wasn't sure where to put this one),
My SONY DRU500ax has decided to burn CD's in 18minuter and not the 4 minutes I was getting, this was on nero 5 (later version) and still does this on Nero 6.

I'm also getting Hardware errors in Instantcopy 8, which then will not burn anything to the DVD?

Any Ideas?? or is it time to clear out the PC and start from scratch

    thanks

    A couple of questions/suggestions...

Did you check for a firmware update?

Did you attempt to uninstall the software completely and then reinstall it to see if that clears the issue?

Also, did you change the media brand you were using? Some DVD/CD-RW drives are picky when it comes to the brand of media you use.

Firmware 2.0f lastest for DRU500ax I've so far heard of, is installed.

Media is good, I'm 100% positive about it.

I haven't attempted any fresh install as I will be changing to a new pc in (hopefully) less than a week, this pc was just fine, hadn't loaded any new software or removed anything when it slowed the burning of cd's.

    solution:
ok, just realised that nero6 was 'normalising' all audio during burn process, have unselected this option and am now back to under 5mins per CD
