This unit came with dru-840a ss01 firmware the problem is it will burn cd's but, not dvd's. it will write movies to the hard disk but, will not burn them. every kind of burning software i tried said burn was success? but disc is still blank. i've even tried both of my pc's . I thought maybe i may have a corrupt eeprom but, i don't have a backup to try writing to it. i have re flashed the firmware but with no luck. Thanks for any ideas!
I am having the same problem as we speak. I am able to burn DVDs at 1x only using my MAC. I am able to burn CD-Rs and DVD data disk only. I am unable to burn .ISO and video files on my PC and tired differnt software from Nero 7-9 and Roxio 9 still no luck. Did you ever get your to work?
The first person sounds like a dying/dead DVD burner. The second person sounds like bad software, use ImgBurn instead.
