Hi. My Sony dvd camcorder records with mini dvd disc which has a max recording time of 1 hour and my problem is: I want to place all the (recorded) material on two or three mini dvd discs (1.4GB) onto the one normal standard dvd disc (4.7BG). What program/s is available do such a task and how? On my computer i have a dvd dual layer burner, so i'm able to burn whatever format, that's no problem. If your able to help out, i'd be much appreciated. Thank you Lambie
I have not workde withit personally, but a program that does exactly what you wnat is Cinematize: http://www.miraizon.com/products/products.html
This is actually quite easy to do so long if you understand that mini dvds work exactly like regular dvds, only they are mini: *_* 1) Insert your mini dvds onto the dvd burner and burn all contents onto the harddisk, each under a separate folder (e.g. movie 1, movie 2). You can use e.g. Decrypter to do it. 2) Run Shrink, choose 'reauthor', go highlight the video_ts folder under each movie, and click to paste the various 'titles' over to the compilation window on the left, adjust 'compression settings' if necessary, then burn with e.g. Nero. Happy DVD authoring!
The above with DVD-Shrink is my approach, too. And recording at SP (30 min per mini disk), no compression is required, so it is an excellent archival approach. I do lose the menus, but I can still FF from chapter to chapter.
You can use DvdReMake (Pro) to merge miniDVDs to one DVD keeping menus: http://www.dimadsoft.com/dvdremakepro/ht_merge_full.php
