I have a sony dvd camera 105, i can't use movie maker in order to mix my mini dvd's. i also tried programs like pinacle, sony picture package but i always have the same problem i can't put my files into the program.
Your camcorder records in a DVD format rather than AVI. Have a look here http://www.digitalvideoclub.com/tutorials/dvdedit.php for help on editing.
thank you for the advice. I tryed it but at the end when a choose save as avi, a message that says "no audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format" stops the program. I can't find the problem...
The file cannot be saved as an AVI, it would need to be converted. It might be quicker to use editing software that supports the mini DVD format. Try this: http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/products/vegasfamily.asp It's well rated and there is a free trial.
If you have the problem with "no audio decompressor could be found..." you probably have recorded sound in AC3. Install the free AC3 filter and you should have no problem converting to AVI with VirtualDUB-MPEG. http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=66022&package_id=63808
