    My drive is Sony DVD+-RW DW-Q58A Ver:UDS2

I bought some Dual-Layer DVD+R's on sale. Now I can't burn them. I researched my drive and tried to update the firmware from UDS2 with USY4.

Here's the error I got when I tried to flash it:

    "No matched drive detected!
This utility is only for SONY DVD RW DW-Q58A drive.

    Detected drives:
    1-0-0-0 D:SONY DVD+-RW DW=Q58A UDS2
    2-0-0-0 E:Generic DVD-ROM 1.0
    2-0-0-0 F:DMI USB2.0 CD-ROM 1.15
    3-0-0-0 G:MagicISOVirtual DVD-ROM 1.0A "

I don't see what the real difference is, other than the missing "+-". I tried with Nero, ImgBurn, DvdDecrypter, MagicISO, and Alcohol, but they all have failed to burn.

I even checked this site that's always being referred to in the forums: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2113. All of whatever I could find there that's supposed to be compatible with my drive just failed to flash.

I can't really return these DVD's, and don't feel like shelling out extra dough for Verbatim brand if it's not gonna work with my outdated drive. Does anyone know a solution or can redirect me to an actual working firmware upgrade? Is there something I'm doing wrong?
