Sony dwu10a Reading problem

    I have the above drive which is set as default to ultra dma mode2 in device manger,yet with this setting it will not read pressed dvd or data discs correctly.If i change it to p10 mode it works fine.I have now altered it to a dru500 latest firmware and this problem is still there.Can anybody please explain how to solve this or will it be ok to leave in p10 mode.thanks

    Well if your Drive works in Pio Mode then use it But it sounds like there could be a Problem with your Drive or Maybe your PC"s Direct Memory access controller..are your Hard drives and CD/DVD Drives on seperate IDE Connections, if not then you should do it and see it is helps..I have the Same Drive but I updated it to the Latest DRU-500A 2.0F firmware and Mine Works Great....Cheers
