    Hi There.
I've recently bought a Sony HDD (DCR-32) and although I can transfer the videos to my PC - they won't play for some reason and it's driving me crazy !! I have windows XP if that makes any difference ?

    PLEASE HELP !!

    Thanks.

Won't play in the Sony 'Picture Motion Browser' or in the 'Handycam Utility'. They are the software that came with it. I can see still photos but when I copy over video I get a graphic which is like a picture of a screen with a lightning bolt through the centre and the video will not play.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi
I had problems initially transfering movie files from my DCR 32E - the instructions were misleading. Sounds as if you have stored them on your PC. Have you registered the folder that contains them, in Picture Motion Browser?
Have you tried viewing the video files from, say, Windows Media Player. I couldn't get any sound until I downloaded the AC3 filter codec.

    Hi Karl.

    Thanks for the reply.

I had registered the folder. They won't play in Windows Media Player either (latest version) ??
