SONY HDR HC9 wont connect to my pc

    I have this camera and my cpu wont even recognize it as even connected to the cpu.I have my wedding and i cant transfer it to the pc. I have xp, a firewire cable connected and everything can anybody help? thank you

    What program are using to try to capture?

    sony vegas 8,ulead 11,windows moviemaker,nero 8. None of them work.My cpu acts like the camcorder doesnt even exist.No noise,no install new software or anything.But soon as i hook my cannon minidv camcorder up it pops right up.

    If you can't capture, with any of those programs, then you have something set up wrong. Check your manual again to see if you are missing something simple.

    The capture part is not the problem yet.My cpu wont recognize the camcorder.I been googling and i seem to be missing a driver that i cant find on the internet to install.

    Did you ever get your computer to recognize the video camera?

    nope.luckily i borrowed the camcorder so after being frustrated to the point of almost breaking it i just gave it back

    Try this:
    Shut off computer.
    Shut off camera.
    Hook Firewire to PC.
    Hook Firewire to camera.
    Turn on camera.
    Turn on PC.

    See if it seen now!
