    hi there can anyone help my av keeps saying protect and switching off everytime i turnit on
    any ideas?????

    that happens when there is ( major ) fault in unit it goes into protection mode as it happened in my onkyo amp.read booklet about problems and what to do.

    First please check that the speaker cables are not shorting anywhere
