    Hi all,
I'm thinking of getting a new notebook this summer. I currently have a compaq zd7000 and it's just a littly too big to be lugging around (great for games though). I need something with good battery life, good dvd playback (for airplane flight enterntainment) and i'd also like it to be able to handle some gamming (yes i understand it won't be a gamming machine). I've been looking at the Vaio S series which has a mobility radeon 9200 graphics card and a compaq nc6000 with a mobility radeon 9600. How much better is the 9600 and what notebook would you go with.

i used to have a viao at my work and it plays very well all round. Granted dont expect it to an all gaming machine as you said but the vaio is a great piece of kit its very light has great battery life and sony have really woked wonders on thier latest models. The compaq will be better for games but the vaio would be better suited to you im sure. Look in some of the pc mags, ive lost count of how many editors choices the vaios have snatched. Usually the acer orheavy handed ones take the performance award but the battery life is terrible.
