Im operating on Win XP Home, and I have several thousand songs and would like to find a program or a way to sort several songs out at a time by "name of song" "Artist" instead of switching around with cut and paste each song. Your help would be appreciated.

Foobar maybe able to do it,you'd most probably need to add file/folder location then select in foobar's menu bar:=
    library
    album list

in album list window at bottom left it has drop down for artist/album/ & to the right is filter

    well its worth a shot

What it is I've got a long list of songs some with #'s some with artist and some starts with the song. I'm trying to keep from cut and pasting all of them Name of Song then artist no #'s. I had a program years ago that did it, but like everything you don't use it you loose it.
    Thanks

    i can't read it seems..lol..

i'm not aware of any program that can alter titles of songs like this automatically

    from
    Hotel California-1-Eagles
    to this
    1-Eagles-Hotel California

i used ExploreXP to rename all mine http://www.explorerxp.com/ tho that was for doing titles only manually 1 at a time & took frak'n months, most had to be manually renamed because of too long a character length which need to be less than 42 as old xbox has fat32 partitions ,i think what you'd need is some sort of tagreader/editor whereby it would change the tag as well as display title but i'm damned if i know of one, most probably a website that specialises in audio files might get what you need & if so post back i've got a stack of mkv movies that i need to rename..lol..

media organizer and player Jaangle is a media player and organizer that stands out of the crowd with a user friendly interface and easy access to some of the most popular features such as cover downloads, lyrics retrieval, artist bio, personal ratings and more. It supports most video and audio formats including mp3, ogg, mp4 and many others. You can create multiple collections by simply adding the folder paths that contain your MP3 files, search through your collections and sort the file list in several ways. The program can automatically download lyrics, cover art and author bio (whenever available) and store the information locally, so it is available at any time, regardless of your Internet connection. Jaangle also keeps track of the files you play and lets you review statistics and generates a personal hit list based on which songs you listen to most. Other features include file renaming, ID3 editing, integrated player interface and more. A refreshing addition to the crowded media player/organizer market. Jaangle offers the right balance of features and an attractive interface that will suit most casual music listeners without much of a learning curve.

I have 90,000 plus music tracks spread out over three drive and I have tried every music manager program I can find to provide good library management and easy ID tag editing. I have bought and paid for Helium, MediaMonkey, and all the free programs. I finally found Media Center, from Jriver, and my search is over.
