OK, here's what I got! I downloaded FileZilla Server (I wanted to host files for remote users) and from the tutorial I got from here : http://www.tweakfactor.com/articles/tweaks/ftpsetup/1.html I have set up and configured accordingly and when I tested to connect from my localhost (not from a different computer, the same computer that is being configured as ftp) and it worked just fine. Now when I went here http://www.web2ftp.com/ to test connection, it errored out saying Ftp connections not currently accepted or server not reacheable....Should I have do anymore tweaking with the router???
You can not test an FTP Server from the host computer. It will always be a good link up. You can't test it with any computer on your network because they are already on your network and had the ability to see fellow PCs alike. Make Sense. You have to test from an outside source to get true results. Something in your setup/preparation must have gone wrong. I'm guessing that you're using a router. If so, that may be problem number one. You will need to open the ports for your FTP Client and forward them to your router for outside sources to have access to your network (i.e. Host Computer) Even if you're not using a router, you need to make sure whatever ports you're using as a send/receive for your Server have been opened and manually allowed by your Firewall.
