My pc recently got a really bad virus, to the point of where I couldn't log in any more or anything.
After to weeks of heck trying to fix it I finally got it up and running by getting a brand new hard drive and xp disc, once it finished installing it told me something about the sound card not being there. This seems kinda crazy to me because I totally know there was sound beforehand, and I haven't removed anything whatsoever or added to the motherboard. Just the hard drive and xp disc was I had done.
So, basically I don't know what to do to help this thing find it, it's gotta still be there. But when I look under the control panels sound and audio devices, it says "No Devices Found". The computer was custom built so I don't know what kind of sound card it has. It's currently running xp and has an ASRock motherboard. Thanks in advance for any help

Nvm, I found the problem, it was that the sound chip was installed on my motherboard. I went to the manufacturers website, and found the driver for the sound chip. I now happily have my pc up and running. Thx anyways.
