Im looking into getting a sound card. I dont really know what im looking for though =P

Im not looking for something high end. Maybe something in the 20-50 dollar range.

Maybe something that goes well with my ATI Radeon HD 4670 graphics card =P

but anyway, can someone suggest to me some sound cards, or explain to me what to look for in them?

edit: forgot to mention, the only available slot left on my mobo is a PCI slot, so the soundcard needs to be PCI interface =P

pci .. cheap will do.. they are all the same... spending $50 or $10 will get you exactly the same creative chipset

They are not all the same! OMFG, I can't believe a non-newbie would say that! Have you ever tried a turtle beach card...terrible audio quality if you can find one that works at all!

You can get the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE for about $35...it is an older model that used to cost a lot more. It works with Windows 7 and all windows back to 2000. It does not have a lot of special features...it is just a good, efficient card that is extremely reliable. I use one myself, and it works great in windows 7 x64 with 5.1 output. Sure, they killed the equalizer and it's presets...but these were never any good to begin with; they made realtek look good by compairison.

I'm afraid your link is dead. If it was a SIIG, read the fine print. Most of them only output in stereo when using digital outputs. Also read the reviews...some models are decent, others are trash, and they don't make anything that is realy nice.

So i just got that sound card. Everytime i try to install the drivers i get the Blue Screen of Death, then the pc restarts. Then it gives me a message saying driver was not installed.
