The sound on my computer crashed a few but not much times and I had to restart my system to get it back working again. Is this a serious problem? Why does it happen? Is it a hardware or a software or OS problem? I have windows XP Pro service pack 3 hd 4890 ud3r motherboard q 9550
Or "sound crash" Like for example if i google it. But I really mean like when your playing a game or using a pc the sound port "crashes" and doesn't work requiring a system restart to get it working again. Rarely happens though. By the way is one time I pluggeded in a USB port for the apple sync cable and sticked in the other end to the another usb port for i don't know why but it said something like "this port is using more power than limited" or something. But I hope that didn't shock the motherboard or anything, as I won't do it again.
You still haven't defined what you mean by a sound crash. Does the sound suddenly go mute, or is there some sort of interference or noise? Plugging a USB port into itself doesn't seem a particularly clever idea, but it shouldn't in theory cause any harm.
