This case is not like the other video when the audio distorts after the video had a stop and rec. In this case since the video was recorded poorly these shocks are more difficult to predict and control and happen more often. In order to successfully transfer this I will require lots of re-capturing going by segments monitoring the whole process. In my view this problem has to be eliminated rather then controlled. I need advice what do I do?

This is the infamous video: :x

If this is on the original tape then there isn't a lot you can do. There is a common phrase used in video editing "Garbage in, Garbage out". Things like full frame TBCs or possibly another VCR may help but sometimes the original is just too poor. You can try capturing in uncompressed AVI (large file size) and running filters on the video to clean it up. Also software like Soundforge can help to alleviate some of the sound issues. Are you still using the Sony SLV for this capture?
