Please help! Evertime I want to play a movie through my media player, the sound is not so clear. It has static like sound. I know there's something wrong, but how and where can I fix it? Please help! thanks.
How much do you already know? Did you try reinstalling your driver for your sound hardware? Try blowing it out with compressed air or blow til' you pass out.
I tried blowing it out. Still nothing. It plays cds and music on the drive just fine, no problems. But the movies are still bad!
When you say "a movie" do you mean one in particular or movies in general? Try playing serveral different videos. If all the videos sound bad, try reinstalling media player. If that doesnt work, try updating your drivers.
All movies I play are bad. By the way where can I find the update for that problem, I'm terrified of updating things on my computer (so I don't mess anything up with my dvd burning programs). Thanks for you help.
Download and install media player 10 here, http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/2/A/12A31F29-2FA9-4F50-B95D-E45EF7013F87/MP10Setup.exe If that link doesnt work for some reason, go here and click "download now" under media player 10(DO NOT DOWNLOAD 11 BETA because its beta and doesnt work as well as 10), http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/download/download.aspx
it may not be that sony vaio laptops have very poor sound cards several models have firmware and driver updates for the soundcard and can be fixed very easly go to www.sony.com and find the latest driver and firmware update for the laptop
