Hi everyone that took the time to read this tread.Anyway, recently i have been having problems with sound on my computer.Basically, sometimes when i play audio files i get this really loud static noises. They also happen alot when i play videos.Ive noticed also that,it happens more frequently when using specific media players, most notably Winamp. This problem also happens when i play certain games like GTA:San Andreas,Guild Wars,Battlefield 2,i get these really loud and annoying static noises.I really dont know what the problem is really, and what really gets my head scratching is that when i make music on FL Studio, there is no static noises.but when i play audio, video or put a game on it starts doing those noises. So i really dont know whats the matter with it,so please guys, give me a hand here in figuring out whats wrong. Thanks! Here are my pc specs: CPU:AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+ RAM:1GB VIDEO:NVIDIA FX 5500 256MB AUDIO:REALTEK AC97 AUDIO OS:WinXP Home Edition SP2
Thanks for supplying good information. I suspect this is a sound card issue not a sofware problem. It is probably the part that produces the hi-end music vs the beeps which are handled elseware on the same card. I would post this problem on the 'make your own PC' forum. Hardware people read those posts. If it was me, I would just buy a new sound card from a place that I can return it if that is not the problem. One last thing, you may have blown your speakers. Do you have the same problems with ear phones? (See, I am a bit of a hardware guy.) If I have hardware problems I post them there.
