Ok, so, a long story short:

I had Vista originally, Used VistaBootPRO 3.3 to get dual boot, had no issues getting XP PRO and Vista to boot.

So, shortly describing my situation in XP:
Video drivers install fine. I install sound drivers (realtek AC97 Ver. A4.03 and tried Nvidia), and windows recognizes them as installed (control panel > add/remove), but they dont run at startup, or work at all. Some have problems even installing. Also, when i play WC3, it cannot find any sort of sound device. My Vista system has Realtek installed (came with it also) incase you were curious as to what it ran on.

All in all, my 2 problems/concerns:

    1. Sound Drivers. How can i get them to work?

    2. Will VistaBootPRO alter the installation process of programs that require a reboot in order to "fully install"? I am fearful of this altering my working Vista in the ability to update/upgrade drivers and etc.

    thanks for your input =)

    oh, and

    3. If i wanted to re-install XP on the same Partition its currently on, would i have to worry about things getting all funky with the Dual-boot, or would i have to mess with anything?

    An update:

I have discovered that the issue still re-occurs with a fresh install of Windows XP PRO SP2...and has nothing to do with the Dual-Boot...as my updates worked just fine on my Vista, along with all the other drivers i installed on XP.

As I said before, i have Realtek Hi-def Audio drivers on my vista...so i tried putting on Realtek regular drivers for my XP, figuring they should work, but they dont. Windows does not detect any sort of sound output device with and without drivers installed. Because my HP system was geared around Vista, would this possibly affect the fact i cannot get sound? The video drivers work fine, so i dont know whats up. My "sound card" is integrated on the motherboard, btw. I can't find ne thing on microsofts website ='(

    WHAT DO I DO!? =(
