I'm trying to play divx movies with ac3 sound on my suround reciever. I've installed the K-lite codec pack full version 271, with the playback only option. I'm using the media player classic as player and ac3filter as the audio codec. Normal stereo output works fine. When I turn on spdif the Frames/Errors field in ac3filter stops at 6/0 and I hear no sound. If I mousepress the timeline in MPC the frames starts counting up but all I hear is a repeating noise. spdif works with windDVD so I know the hardware is ok. I once got spdif working with a divx movie on windows media player 10. But it was only once and I don't know why. Usually it only outputs stereo pcm even though I've enabled spdif in ac3filter. Anyway, I'd appriciate any help in getting spdif to work.
Under the main tab for the ac3filter you have spdif selected as the output for speakers? are you using the ac3 codec from sourceforge?
