Until recently I could copy an audio CD in just over 3 mins with Nero 5.5 using my 52x creative CD ROM and 24x Teac writer under Win XP pro. Recently however, it has been taking over 8 minutes. After about 30% of the disc has been copied, the read buffer falls from its usual 90%+ to 49% and stays there, also the device buffer drops to 6 or 7% full. Both drives have DMA enabled. CPU is AMD 2400+ Any ideas?
did you try another burning program to check if this problem only happens with Nero? Are you burning on the fly? If the source CD is scratched, then it's not surprising...
