I just bought a speedstream 5637 modem from an off market dealer and i am having trouble configuring it. He said i needed to put the username and password into the modem itself which i'm assuming is done by typing in the modem's ip into the web browser. I've tried inputing 192.168.2.1, 10.0.0.1, and http://mynetwork which is what has work with my past modems but dont seem to work with this one. I've tried searching for the modem ip with no luck as well.

It gives me a message, "minimal or no connectivity" when i plug everything in. (i'm using a different modem at the moment to try and get a solution for my new modem)

Anyways, any help would be appreciated as i want to get this new modem setup.

Did you try to reset the modem with everything plugged into it? It should auto configure itself.

BTW, Nice tutorial in your sig. I've been looking for something like that.

Yeah i figured it out this morning, aparently this guy gave me the wrong type of modem. I was looking for something like you explained, the "auto-config type" that stores the username and password inside the modem, he gave me something that needed to dial up on the broadband connection. Good news that i got it working, better news that he's letting me exchange for the auto-config type.

No problem with the sig, glad it helped.
