hi all, have spider chip installed on v1.0 xbox with upgraded samsung sd-616 dvd drive. (My first attempt at mod). Install of chip went well; boots to spiderchip screen with options to load bios from cd or hdd. Have downloaded and burnt 256k bios to cd & dvd but xbox will not seem to read either. much frustration and name calling followed.. but neither seemed to help. thinking I am clever i removed drive from xbox and put in caddy on PC to enable copy of bios to HDD and then to xbox. But have hit a wall here as can't copy files to xbox drive without formatting which will make it unusable to xbox (right?).have read forums stating how easy to flash this chip is so feel like complete dunce :-( can someone help?
did you make sure that you named the bios file BIOS.BIN and then put a dummy file with it and named it DUMMY.BIN and then burn to dvd at slowest speed possible this should work fine i burned mine using nero 6 and all of mine work fine thanks
hey tommyl, thanks for your help. I have tried even downloaded Nero to do the job. I will have another go at burning it slow. The dummy file should be 100Mb right? I think I read that somewhere.
