I have a film that uses an .srt file to add subtitles, and I am wondering if there is a program that will take the subs and splice them into the .avi, so I will be left with only one file. I tried googling and got irrelevant or simply confusing results. Any help would be much appreciated.

AVIMuxGUI, however you will loose compatibility. For instance many standalone players support external srt's, but as far as I know none support AVIMuxGUI muxed subs.

Hmmm.... this program works. I made the file properly, but even though I have all the codecs (k-lite pack, latest divx, vob subtitle, etc.) the movie no longer plays. Are there other programs that do this? I hope one will work.

Should play the same as the original avi. The old vobsub used to come with a util for muxing subs I think. That is about it for subs in avi.
