Hi all. Got done by the azesearch bar spyware, looking everywhere to clean it, searched google, downloaded the best (they say is Xoftspy) software for that specific Spy but is hardly touching it... Any ideas? Thanks guys. Miggs
hey buddy, how ya doing... download this program: http://www.xblock.com/download/xcleaner_free.exe its called X-Cleaner, its a standalone program that searches for tonnes of spyware programs, i checked the encyclopedia and its in there so it will scan, detect and ask you what you wanna do... greatest spyware program i have found except for Spyware Terminator... one you open the program just select all of the options and click start scanning and it will begin to scan, a box will come up click the appropriate button... this should most definitely work, make sure to delete spywares folder in program files once spyware has been removed so that any files it leaves are gone... use the shredder inbuilt into the X-Cleaner... see you later man...
OMG!! I'm [bold]embarassed[/bold] now!! I have got that program here in my documents! My brother sent this to me a few months ago... I never got to try it... (never really needed it...) Thanks Phantom, i owe you one... (took me over 3 minutes to write these words, it's raining pop-ups...) Miggs.
download, update & run in this order. ccleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/ cwshredder http://www.intermute.com/products/cwshredder.html ad-aware se http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-... spybot s&d http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2471.html online virus & spyware scan http://housecall60.trendmicro.com/en/start_corp.asp
Haya Phantom, ddp, how're you doing guys? Like Xoftspy, Phantom, X-Copy hardly touched it, i have all those programs ddp listed, i ran them all yesterday and they did't do much. But there's is one thing that ddp might want to explain to me: Why did running them in that order worked today? Yesterday i ran Window Washer, Ad-aware, Spy Doctor, CCleaner, Spy Sweeper, XoftSpy, CWShreader, Spybot and today i done X-Cleaner (no particular order). All managed to get to it just a bit, you know, with every scan, a bit was going. But i ran them in that sequence but ran Window Washer at the end and it seems to me that it is clean. I haven't had a pop up yet... My pc isn't dragging anymore, i'm back at 39 processes again (had 52 running!!) Is there a reason to running them in that order? Miggs.
if you are talking about my order is because ccleaner is 1st & cleans out cookies, history & whatever. than cwshredder gets rid of any coolweb search than i run avg7 before i run ad-aware se & spybot s&d.
hey ddp, have you every tried Free Internet Windows Washer, it cleans complete usage history of your computer... @permiggs glad we could help... @ miggs you should have used the most up to date version, would have gotten rid of it copmletely
@ ddp... what exactly is your job anyway? i ran what you told me (when i asked you to repost those links) only found 1 minor issue (resolved now) i passed them along to my dad and sister, my dad has some corporate edition of symantec, and avg still found stuff in his puters... i told them, after they run the programs, they will have HAPPY PC's.
@ ddp, cool, so when i get some new hardware, can i ask a few questions? like adding a 2nd larger hard drive and a new burner..
Hi guys. Just got home from work... And guess what? Turned my pc on to check into AD, and got bombarded by pop-ups again... Just ran my 'army' of cleaners and also Norton 2k5, they deleted a lot of 'new' spy's and a few of the 'old' ones that got deleted a few times already(!)... There must be some file that keeps spawning them into the same place again and again... Bloody Hell, it's the first time i ever get done by Spyware's, you know, and never thought it was this bad... I just had about 8 or 9 pop-ups that came all at the same time... This is getting seriously annoying... Anyway, how's the new year treating you guys?
@ permiggs... did you recently download something and not read the EULA? you may have accepted the pop ups... if it so, uninstall.. just a thought.
I know how it happened, actually. I was on forbidden grounds looking for something, and this pop-up came up just as i found what i was looking for. Like you said Gear, i must have accepted it... It downloaded instantly, never had the time to do anything... I just can't find it on the computer... It's scattered all over. Yesterday, i got it all sorted out, today i came in and it's the same... I'm doing scan after scan, and everytime it comes up with different spy's.
I know how to fix this its easy just format and reinstall. Install everything that DDP said and hopefully you learned your lesson, come on it doesnt take that long 2 hours max that includes installing all new programs and windows updates but if you on dail up then sorry for saying that but that time wouldnt include installing games hope your not a gamer. Go on do it!! I know you want to.
@Dude I know it doesn't take that long, and yes it is high up on the list! I'm not a gamer, i'm a draftsman! So you can imagine me frustration when i'm running SolidWorks!! I'm saving EVERYTHING relevant on DVD as i'm writing this, and hopefully, by the end of tomorrow morning i'll have this up and running... Oh! And NO i haven't learned my lesson! LOL
in ccleaner/options/settings, enable ccleaner to run when windows starts as it will do it's cleanout the only problem is if you restart the computer multiple times during the day than will have to retype your user name & password for any site you go onto.
hey permiggs download a program called spyware terminator... it is a freeware program that is the equivalent of ad-aware pro, has real time monitoring and scanning.... i use it instead of any oter except for X-Cleaner, os download and installl, update and let real-time protection protect you, make sure to read any messages that it creates while you are using your computer, it only notifies you when some needs to be blocked...
