starview 1

having a problem with a starview 1 loaded 450eE and now box froze up just getting the box on tv screen cannot load 400Ee or anything else .dublin ireland

450 is for "The Box" not a Starview version 4 is for a genuine Starview 1 please check the SV EV Info link at the bottom of my post for clone info.

 

its not a clone starview 1 but wontload stations on 400eE

 

As you have already found out, 4.50 is not for starview, it is for the starview2, also known as the box.
You need to flash it with 4.00. Do the bad flash procedure again, i.e., hook it up to your pc, leave it powered off
and start up gtrom, select your firmware file, and hit download, after a second or two, turn on the starview. You may
have to do this a number of times before it works. After you get the "Download Complete" popup, wait another 30 - 40 secs before disconnecting the starview. When you hook it up to the tv, you will need to go through the installation procedure, i.e., select english as the language, select provider, do auto scan, when finished, press MENU, then 1570, go down to 'Key EMU' and turn it ON. Then exit back out to normal tv, and everything should be OK.
Before flashing with 4.00, are you sure it's a genuine starview? Count the vents on top, if has 18x7, it's a clone, DO NOT use 4.00 on a clone. Get 2.57 FIXED from the eko site at the end of my post if it's a clone.

 

its genuine starview downloads 400 no prob just wont scan stations in

 

Have you got your provider correct when doing the autoscan and do you have the key emu on?

 

yes tryed with emu on and of have other box no prob with that one just this one

 

Are you on Ch**** or N**?

 

n~~ i think this box is faulty when it scans it says ok but no stations

 

What type of box is your other one thats working?

 

same starview 1 and have the box no prob there either

 

In that case why not clone the non working box from the working one if they are both genuine Starview 1.


Connect both boxes together with the null modem cable.
On the good box select
Menu
User Set up
SW Transfer

On the good box select
Menu
User Set up
SW Transfer

First select Code Hit OK

When completed select

Channel Data Hit OK

New box flashed and channel data including any favorites setting as well, make sure the recieving box (slave) is pointed away from the remote though and in standby.

 

tryed that didnt work sw transfare says no data

 

I presume you are using the good box as the master and the bad one as the slave. As that good box has to have SW otherwise it will not work.

When you say you have version 4 on the bad box and it works fine, but you cannot get any channels have you got your coax feed into the cable in port and not the ant in port.
