Starview 2 + HDD + DivX

I am thinking to get the box and I found this shop. Do you guys know if Starview 2 supports DivX/XviD? I am not going to use it as PVR so I wonder if it's possible to hook it up to my PC via USB and upload and play DivX/XviD

 

No The Box doesn't support DivX/Xvid and no you can't use a USB with The Box unless you have a USB adaptor.

 

Thanks mate. Then I suppose it's not a great idea to use it to play divxs...
But how comes it has an USB port on? What is it for?

 

It hasn't got a USB port, it has a 9 pin scart port which is used to update it with firmware and also can be hooked up to a USB port on a PC but only if you have a USB adaptor for it.

I see,you didn't say it was the PVR version of The Box I thought you meant the normal 'The Box'.If the PVR The Box supported Divx etc it would defo say on the specs.

 

The 9-pin socket is of course a serial port, not scart, bit of a typo me thinks, thinking about something else while typing.

 

Yeah it was Eamo,I wasn't sure whether to call it a serial port or scart,just went with scart.
