starview 2 - the box

I have just bought a starview 2 " the box " from cable and sat. They delivered to the door Cash on delivery - very good service - 3 days no problem.

Can somebody tell me does this box WORK with n%l mmds in waterford. i currently have n%l mmds installed WITH N%L box working

Not sure if it will work in Waterford but it does on N** MMDS in Dublin. You will probably need to install the newest firmware on it first which is version 4.50 as it usually will not come with this.

 

hey can anyone help me please. i got the box yesterday think its called the starview. cannot get it to work. im on ch***s in greystones. ive tried resetting it and putting in the freq manually but it keeps saying 0 program found. i got it from a friend and he used it on ntl i think, not sure if this is tghe problem cus i have reset it and it still doesnt work. cheers

 

I think you are on an MMDS feed in Greystones. Have you got an aerial on your roof with a cable feed into the house?

Is it a Starview one or the Starview 2 called "The Box". Are you sure you have a direct cable feed from C***** into your house?

 

its a starview 2 and there is defo no arial on my roof. thanks for getting back 2 me!

That is the latest firmware with the C***** true cable fix alright. I have seen some people in your area with the same problem with the Eurovox. Have you got digital in your area or is it just analogue. Do you have a digital subscription service with C*****?

I am assuming you have also checked your key emu is on.

 

yep emu is on. i believe u can get digital c****** in the area but i dont think i have it. i just have the standard channels like rte1+2 tv3 ch4 bbc1+2 eurosport skynews sky1 utv mtv tg4

 

You seem to have more than just the normal channels as s*y channels are not terrestrial. Do you have a box from C***** in your house?

Well then I am afraid to say you just have an analogue/MMDS cable coming into your house, one or the other and the Starview will not work.

As said I have seen this with people in your area and a few other areas. I would say ring C***** and ask them if they can provider digital in your area? But I have asked other people in your area to do this and C***** came back with the answer NO. I also know that N** are not in your area.

By the way just as a matter of info what does it say on your bill from C***** regarding your TV service, are they saying it is analogue or digital that they are providing you with?

it doesnt say digital or analouge. is digital chorus what i need to get this thing to work?

 

Sorry but I have just had it verified that your area is analogue and the box will not work there.

 

hey i just rang c***** there to see if digital is available here and they said that it should be available at the end of the year. so if i get it when it comes out should the starview box work then?
