Hi, I have just recieved a Starview 3 box the super and have no idea how to set it up!
I also have a null modem cable and a coax plug to F connector and a virgin internet connection.
Can someone please give me step by step instructions on how to set it all up? I want it ready for when the hubby gets in from work as a surprise!
    Thanks!

If you have a USB port then it's either a Starview 4 or 5.
I believe SV4 are silver and SV5 are black in colour also on the front panel (top left) it should state The Box USB (SV4) or USB II (SV5).
Once you know what box you have got then you can get started by downloading the latest firmware (to make your box work) onto a USB memory stick.
To find your firmware click on the first thread on this forum page "Latest Fixes".
Click on the link below the words highlighted in red "ITS BEEN NOTICED THAT SOME OF THE LINKS DONT WORK >>> IF YOU NEED A LINK PRESS HERE:
The link will take you to the website where you will find the firmware you need.
    1) Once your have downloaded the firmware, put the USB memory stick into the back of your box, turn the box on.
    2) Press OK for English on the Language page and go to USB at the bottom of the screen.
    3) Press the right cursor or OK to highlight USB on the right hand side of the screen, then press OK to find the file you have saved on the USB memory stick.
    4) Highlight the file and press OK, confirm the Data Restore by highlighting the Yes then press OK then you will see the file downloading into the your Box.
Do not touch the remote or the Box until the Box resets to shows the Language menu otherwise you will end up with a dead box permanently displaying 8882 on the display.
    5) Press OK on English in the Language menu, then press the right cursor on Installation to highlight the Automatic Scan on the right hand side of the screen, press OK to show TW or NTL or Ex C&W (depending which area you live in and OK again to start scanning, wait approx 5 minutes.
6)After scanning it should automatically show BBC1 (CH 101) or Virgin Media (CH 999 I think), press Menu and then 1570 to show the secret System Menu.
    7) Move the cursor down to KeyCode or EMU and then move the cursor right to turn the KeyCode or EMU on, press Exit 3 times.
    8) Go to Sky Sports 1 (511) and wait for the screen to update approx up to 1 minute (if there is no change after a minute, just change the channel to Sky Sports 2).
Once updated you should have all Premium/Pay channels, to check go to another Sport channel or Film channel.
    9) Switched off the box at the back and remove the memory stick from the USB port at the back of the box and then switched the box back on.
    Job Done

another important thing is firmware is made for each box and is not swappable double check name on front of unit with files you want to use,put the wrong files on may brick the box.correct identification crucial.
