I recently put v1.10 on but now when I click on epg it starts to download the full epg. With the previous firmware (v1.07) it would just show programmes for the next few hours (which I was happy with) Is there a way of stopping it auto downloading the full epg or is it a case of just cancelling it? *on a few instances I've allowed the full epg download to continue but it hung on approx %20 and the box became unresponsive. So, I had to turn it on and back on from the back
it shouldn`t be doing that .. when i press epg it comes up normal but down the end it says ttx -12 and signal +12 hours .. soprob mess around with that
Cheers tempo I know about the +/1 12 hours option but, the moment I press epg, the full download starts. I have to cancel and then all I end up with is a blank epg. If I then exit the epg and scroll through a few channels, the current epg (now and next) starts to works fine!! arghhhhh!! If all else fails, I might try a reflash
yeah reflash it and factory default etc. and make sure its the latest firmware think its dated 23/06/09 cos there was two more before that as youy prob already know
The 23/06/09 is titled 'beta' which kinda puts me off What issues does the beta firmware look to resolve?
thats the only working firmware well fully working firmware at the moment the ones a few days before were maissing a couple of channels bbc 1 and channel 4 and a couple of others and also they weren`t recording but this firmware solves it all http://www.4shared.com/account/file/113638894/b22d319a/TheboxSuperUSB_BETA.html
Hi all I have a fault i think ? my epg downloads ok and works fine untill i put the box in standby mode it looses the epg and when i turn the unit on i then have to reload the epg. is this the norm or will i have to do a reflash ? thanks
have done that and it is the same. i thought that would happen anyway if you power off the unit but should save in sleep mode ?
LOL we are talking Starview here The EPG is not only firmware related but is also dependent on your location and ex provider areas, presuming you are in the UK. You never had a Starview 1 by the sounds of it, then you would remember how bad an EPG experience could be In all honesty if you want a full 7 days EPG and once you are in the UK. Then better of with a linux box with a modified EPG engine. Or back to the TV times and the SV4
Ihad a starview 1 and all its faults but thats not the problem. I have a full epg working 100% the problem is it needs to be reloaded every time i turn the box on from standby i could understand if i powered off the whole thing but not standby ?. Thanks
it probably would be better if you turned the power off than on standby, as i sometimes leave my box on all night and when i put the tv on next day, most times i have no epg and have to turn my box off for a minute or two,
Hi All, How are ye, it's been a long time since I've had to use this forum, thats a good thing I suppose! I'm in Ireland on area connection chorus cork. Have uploaded the first fix on to it and it's working fine except for the recording part. I know I should be happy with what I got back but I miss the recording now. I tried the new beta firmware updated on 23-6-09 but that doesn't work as it is prob only the fix for the uk at the mo.... Anyone have any idea if there is a fix for Ireland Starview 4 usb to include the recording???? Any help appreciated Cheers!!!!!!
your box should record but its having problems recording from the epg menu if your box does not recorrd try formating your memory stick
