8882 means fatal error - Not a great sign. What software version did you install? Was it V1.10? If so you need to assess whether you box is a clone. The easiest way to do this is to look over the top of your box through the slats to the inside. If there is a silver cover protecting the processor, you have got a cloned box. If not, then yours is the real deal and there should be a fix available

    Hey,
Thanks for the reply. The box I have is the real deal and I have v1.10 installed. The problem is a read there was a beta fix for the missing BBC and sky problem. I stupidily took a gamble on the file to upload. Any ideas anyone? Or is this my new door stopper?

Have you used the search function to find out if anyone else has had this problem in the past?

Glad to hear you're fortunate enough to have the real SV4!
This issue is fixable, it just requires a bit of time and patience on your behalf to sort it out. Copy and paste the following link into your browser and a full detailing of how to fix the problem is there for you. Hope this helps

That link has no relevance to the problem.

That link is a fix for the SV4. His SV4 is losing channels as he clearly stated in his previous mail. The link that I gave him relates to UK and Ireland and it details how to do a factory reset which I suggest he tries.

I won't stoop to your level of abusive name calling.

All I will say is that the poster has a 8882 error. He can't now install any firware because the box is bricked. Typing '8882' will bring up the wealth of information that has been posted on this board previously.

    Have a nice day.

I had a 8882 error on my SV4 each time I switched it on when I installed V1.09 firmware on it. I did a factory reset and installed V1.10 firmware 3 weeks later and it removed the error message - Coincidence? I don't think so.

If you have a 8882 and a blank screen you can't even do a factory reset. The box is bricked and requires a Max 232, as the OP will find by doing a very quick search.

Giving bad advice? I think so.

    Over and out.

I don't know whether the bad flash method works on sv4 where you start the download then flick the back switch on a few seconds afterwards. If not it's bricked tony's right and no matter what there is no need for name calling he's only trying to help. As said here:

Maybe that's why the link might be irrelevant :)

it has happened to a few people ove the last couple of monthe and there boexs were genuine but you are the only one i know thet has the 8882 message and your box is still going ???
have you got the latest firmware for ireland on your box v112 it was ment to stop genuine boxes from shutting down,
i preuume you got that message when you upgraded the firmware to THE BETA FIX, but if you still have that firmware on your box i am not sure weather it would be safe to upgrade to v112, it may be safe but then it may brick your box during the process because the way your box is now it should be bricked,
my advice would get more info on weather it would be safe to upgrade if you have not already as i dont want to tell you to upgrade and its my fault then if your box is bricked totally!
