the harddrive needs to be formated to FAT32 firstly and never remove the drive when the box is on, you can format the drive in the SV also which will help,

put the HD on to your PC and in MY Computer, you will see the HD when connected, right click and you can choose format from the menu, make sure you choose FAT32 and then format, bear in mind, that any data on the HD will be erased. YOu can do this from the SV also, if you plug the HD into the SV and it picks it up, you can then choose to format the drive from there also. This should fix it, unless your HD is faulty or to big, in which case you will need to patition the drive, but you dont mention what size drive you are using

you need to do the above, the drive has to be FAT32 format or it wont work in the Starview, if its NTFS, you need to format it to FAT32
