Starview Clone

Just got a clone on ebay from Dreamsatilate what do i do now??

 

A Starview clone I presume and how do you know if it is a clone?

 

all his starview boxs are clones

 

Yes always was the case under different names as well, but there are many cloned type of boxes I am more concerned of which type it is?

 

Its half the size of a normall one doesnt go back as far and the scart ports are on the other side!!

 

I believe the supplier you got them from does sell clones. But you description is not that exact. Press the link at the end of my post entitled Starview Info & Keys, click clones and double check.

I will tell you what you require to do then.

 

Seems like a clone alright the back is the same as the one in your link!!! What should i do now??

Lucky you told me that you need to get version 4 off the box ASAP as your box will die. You will need to reflash it with version 2.57eE. Do you have a null modem cable and I will tell you what to do.

Was it you who put Version 4 on it, or did it come with it on.

OK all the firmware/software you need to upgrade the Starview is in the link at the end of my post, marked Eamos FTA Library.

1. Download the Starview PDF Guide, found in Starview Documentation Folder. This will show you how to flash your Starview.
2. Download GTromloader, found in Starview Software Folder.
3. Download Version 2.57eE Fixed firmware, found in Starview Firmware folder.

It can with the software on it all i done was plug it in!! Will the box die in a few days and should i send it back???

 

Its up to you if you want to send it back as it is a clone. I hate the fact that they not only sold you a clone but that they actually put on a version of firmware that would brick this box. You may find it hard to get a refund though thats why I always advise people to stay away from fleabay.

I would recommend that you put version 2.57eE fixed on it immediately and forget about it. There is little difference between this and version 4 either way and you will not need to input keys either. Your box will also stay up and running.

Absolutely as I said there is not much difference between this version and version 4 either way. Your box will work the same as a genuine one. If you mean the EPG they are equally as bad on both versions the Starview is notorious for this.

 

I have a clone box and clone remote as your pics detail can anything be done I tried to down load your 2.57 and install but the box will not even switch on anymore.

Is it dead or can it be fixed

 

If there is no power going to the box, as in there is nothing on the front display it is dead and requires jtagging. Are you in the UK or Ireland?
