    Hi all
Just trying to find out if the box has a max mem stick size ?. also is there any prefrence as to what are the best ones to use as in make and size combos for the best reaction times as i have 2 none discript drives both 4gig and they are very slow to start recording.
    Thanks

A mem stick I usually use for just flashing the box or an occasional one off recording. I use an external USB 160GB HDD for recordings, (size is fine for my requirements, but you can go with a higher capacity).

Just format the drive to FAT32 with swissknife.

    Thnks for the reply.
I have a 2.5in 100gig ide drive in an external encloseure and external power but it takes for ever to start recording and if you pause it takes about 5 second to kick in and your never sure if it is working.
I supose thats because its an ide drive.
Would a sata drive improve things or is it just spin speed 5400 rpm against 7200 rpm.

    thanks

The "int" initialisation period for recording can take longer than five seconds at most times, so count yourself lucky ;)

Sorry should have said it takes 5 seconds for anythig to happen then int starts.
is that normal because it is almost instant with memory stick up to int point.

    hanks

I use a 16GB memory stick for recording and a separate 500MB for data stuff (the one that came free with the box)

I've not had any issues in terms of start up times but, that is because the memory stick is flash based whereas the HDD will be rotary
