static DHCP

    anyone know how to setup a static address in a dlink router?
    for me to do that(i think), i need to clone one of my computers.
    if i do that, will my computer and xbox havethe same ip address ?

    Just set it up with a different IP address than your computer. As long as the gateway and mask are correct, there shouldn't be a problem.

    I know with my Linksys router all i did was use the connection wizard, set up a new LAN connection on the PC, then set my Xbox up with an IP address that was up one number
    Like PC 192.168.1.100
    Xbox 192.168.1.101 subnet mask and default gateway were the same as what was on the PC
    FTP Program 192.168.1.100 User= xbox password= xbox
