Static image on the left

I'm having trouble with my Samsung Hdtv 40in. The left side has a static line from top to bottom. This occured a few months ago. When the tv is off for a long period of time and turned back on, it would have have black rectangle box top to bottom, same area. Once the tv is warmed up a bit, the static color would adjust to whatever color is in the background (some colors adjust better). But anyways, the static is always at the same area, sometimes it goes away when theres a right color in the background. Also a note, I use this 40inch tv as my gaming and desktop tv (Yes, I know. Its a big tv for a desktop)
