I did everything that I was supposed to do. I went to command and took my isp number, subnet mask, defalt getaway and dns, put them in all the proper boxes but when I go to internet explorer and put my ip addres to port forward something the page doesn't display. portforward.com says to put you ip addres in the addres bar yet that doesn't work, should I activate my static ip or what?
You don't put your IP address in the address bar. You need to put your Gateway's address in the bar (i.e. Your router's address). It may be something like 192.168.1.1. Look at the paperwork that came with your router or go to the products site and you should be able to find your specific information, corresponding to your router.
