lately when I burn a cd (cd-r) the first four or five songs are perfect. The problem is the other fifteen or so. They all sound very staticy like a radio station that is not tuned in. I've tried different media, slower burning and such but it still does nothing to help. The kicker is that they play fine in my house but not in my car. It just started to do this. Nothing is wrong with my car stereo because it will play other burned cds no prob. what gives?
try putting one less song on your cd often burning to close to the edge can create problems with a entire cd/dvd
I have had this problem for several months now. I have tried burning at the slowest speed possible, different burning software, different media but still I get this static that gradually gets worse with each song. I've posted this problem on other forums, but no-one has come up with a solution. One thing I have noticed tho is that the good CD's have a very distinct difference between the area the music has been burned to and the empty sectors, whilst the bad CD's have no distinct difference. Hope I have made myself clear there
I took the above advice and just put half of what I had been puting on the disc and that solved the problem. And then I bought an iPod so I have no need to burn cds anymore
Well, I have actually solved my problem. I simply updated my CD-Burner's firmware form the manufacturers site. Other things I have done are: 1. Closing any virus checkers and firewalls. 2. Closing any programs that were running in the background. 3. Disconnecting from the Internet. (I just disconnected my network cable) 4. Rebooted after burning several CD's. I think the problem was solved solely by updating the firmware, but I decided to give the burn a decent chance by doing those things listed above. I checked on the memory usage in Task Manager to monitor the burn and found it only used 1-3% of the CPU, so no problems there. Hope this helps anyone who has the same problem.
