Strange VCD file sizes

    Hi,

    This is really confusing me. My friend ripped a film from DVD using XVid into 2 parts; the first 716MB and the second 711. I've successfully burnt the first to VCD, but the second (slightly smaller) is too big when it's re-encoded. In Nero for example, it's enourmous - over 800MB and of course won't fit onto a CDR.

    Why is this?
