Hi, Can someone help. I've tried downloading the following file using streambox rtsp://rmv8.bbc.net.uk/radio1/essselection.ra?start="00:00:42" It just won't download. I've downloaded plenty of oyher .ra files without problem. The only difference is the other sites were "http" where as this is "rtsp". Any help much appreciated. I'm using StramBox VCR 1 Beta 31 SMFfix.
You have to use the SMF+turbo or SMF+ versions of StreamBox VCR to download this stream. In fact most RTSP Protocol streams need to use these versions because of updated server software. SMF will not work with these updated servers. These versions are included in StreamBox VCR Suite v2.0. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_capture_tools/streambox_vcr_suite.cfm
And you may use other stream recording software instead like HiDownload, StreamDown, NetTransport and many more.
I guess I should feel good that you thought so much of what I have written on The Streaming Media Recording Forum, that you would copy that information and put it on your web site. Some pages on your site are complete copies of what I have written. How do I capture the video from a site that has this type of Ram file like the example below. I have install StreamBox VCR & want to download this file: "mms://ssr.cdn-japan.com/c0001-e01/news/jiji_movie/g040223m.wmv" "mms://ssr.cdn-japan.com/c0001-e01/news/jiji_movie/g040223l.wmv" Then i copy & paste this address & the download start. But when it reached 53% (5.7MB), the download stops & states there complete. But actually the file hasn't complete download 100% (11MB). May i know it is the software fault or the server of this file fault? Thanks a lot.

Hi all! I am trying to download the following file: mms://WMS.dr.dk/storage/Ung/Boogie/Angora/angora_1_02.wmv using StreamBox VCR 2 version 1.0 beta 31smf+ The download never starts, but I get the error "Server: Requested File Not Found". When I open the same location in Windows Mediaplayer it starts the streaming without any error. I have used other versions of StreamBox as well, but the error seems to be the same. Can anyone help me?
Okay, I found a solution my self. In settings I checked the CheckBox "Always use HTTP for downloading MMS streams" and it seems to work. Thanks anyway... This software is quite cool!

hi everyone...I have been trying to download the following link from MTV.com using the Streambox Vcr1.0 31 SMF+turbo (in StreamBox VCR Suite v2.0) but it says "retry idle" for a long time. You need to use the complete URL including the time stamp. Everything between the quotes. rtsp://....../ver_03 You will have to get a new URL including a new time stamp because that one is expired. They are only good for about two hours for MTV. Try playing the URL before you try downloading. If it doesn't play it wont download.
