I have about 400gb of video and audio files that i have accumulated over the years and so i wnated to know if there is any software that could let me access it from anywhere in the world. Lets say for example i could run it on my computer and then go to any internet connected device and type in my ip ex Http://42.365.646.25:4785 and then be able to access my music and movies and then be able to watch them without downloading,

like streaming them becuase downloading a 1.3 gb file is not fast over http. so i have heard of FTP and other stuff but i want to know if there is a proggy that will do this?

I use PC Anywhere to access my PC from home, which gives you access to all your files. but you have to have PC Anywhere install on the remote computer. There are several cheap FTP client programs you can install, so you can just type in yout FTP address in an internet browser and have access to your files, but I'm not sure if you can stream files over FTP, I think you can only download/upload files (hence the name File Transfer Protocal...)
