oh please, please, please can anyone help, all I want to do is put vid cam film onto a dvd to play on the tv.Using studio 9 & dvd writer emprex 16x dvd -r discs. Once burned to disc it will play ok on computer running xp. Plays ok on sons dvd player but keeps jumping on mine, hitachi dv p505. What am I doing wrong. the hitachi won't even read a +r disc. Stupid thing is I have managed this task ok (sometimes) in the past but don't know what I did that was different.Have got through 9 discs so far today with no success. Is there a more idiot proof product out there, my patience is beginning to wear a little thin. Have tried burning at 1x4 & 1x8. Very grateful for any help.
what is the slowest you can burn at? Also what brand of media are u using? Is the burner's firmware the most recent? Are u running any other applications in the background while the DVD is being burned? You say this plays on another DVD player. Does it play all the way without skipping or jumping? You may find it jumps in the other DVD player later in the movie. What brand of DVD writer do you have? What specs does the PC have?
hi, slowest is x4. Maxell media 1x 8x dvd-r. yep all firmware up to date (according to my son anyway)Norton etc all disabled. Plays right through on sons player. Writer is emprex writer. pc spec is more than ok. Have just downloaded ulead try vidio10 product, still get play back probs - ok on puter but not on tv, doesn't jump with ulead rather staggers!!! Have tried +r discs & they won't play at all. Have just spent 2 6hr sessions trying to burn a useable dvd so you can see why I am so frustrated. Have even recaptured in case that was the prob. No frames dropped either time. I can't afford to waste many more discs. Beginning to think I am just too old to be even trying!!!!!
Is there a chance you can try to burn this on a different media? You dont have to buy a 50 pack or anything like that. If you can purchase a single pack of Verbatim DVD -R in the shops get that and give that a go. I just want to remove that as a possibility. The rest of the stuff looks ok so it is a bit of a mystry. Good luck
YES!!!!!!, sorry to take so long getting back. Bought verbatim dvd-r today could only get 16x & no less than 25. Anyway atempt 1 is perfect, runs on tv dvd player. Cut another disc for friends straight after & this one jumped twice near the start then ran ok all the way to the end. Perhaps I need to allow dvd writer a chance to 'recover' between burns. Anyway, thanks so much for your patience & help, wish me luck with future projects.
