Ok so i just formated my computer.. and now i have a new problem. I cannot record. I get a message which I will post in a bit. I have used 2 different programs, and the only thing i have gotten are faint background sounds that were recorded via my USB camera. Which is not what I want. I have my mic plugged in the mic hub, everything fine, and I have check the preferences and everything checks fine, but I get this message (Sorry its in french but I will as well do a rough tralation to it under, but some terms I cannot fully translate.

French: Il y a un problème avec le matériel son. Pour installer des périphériques de mixage, allez dans Panneau de configuration, cliquez sur Imprimantes et autres périphériques puis cliquez sur Ajout de nouveau matériel.

English: There is a problem with the material sound. Install peripherals of mixing, in Control panel, click on Printers and other peripherals then click on Add other material.

I have tryed that, but every single thing I clicked on it said it is worknig fine, and it cannot update. So if anyone can please help me with this, as usual I appreciate very much. Even suggestions are welcomed, I will try anything. Thank you.

Does it play sounds fine or is that faint too?

You could check to see that you have all the right drivers.

Hi,Well I have a Tiny notebook which I bought just b4 they went bust last year, unfortunately It was sent to me without a recovery disc,so I am deep in mire. It seems impossible to find a recovery disc as I have tried very hard to contact Tiny or Time who took over from Tiny and then followed into administration. If there is anyone who can advise me in this matter it will be appreciated.
    Best Regards.

You need device specific drivers for your mic.
Windows default drivers obviously don't work on it.
Go to the website of your mic's manufacturer and download the drivers for that model.
I just went through virtual hell trying to find updates on an older laptop that was given to my son. Different product runs contain different driver specific hardware. Royal pain in the ass.

Is it the fact that your computer isn't recognizing the mic port or the fact that the mic port is not working properly with your input mic?
