I'm runing an AMD 1.4 GHz system w/512 DDR and Windows XP.
Here's the stupid question....Currently, I'm running 2 hard drives, 1 Pioneer DVD-ROM and a Lite-On x24 CD-R burner. Which drive am I replacing to install the Sony DVD-/+R/RW? I assume I'll replace the CD-RW but will I ever use DVD to DVD to burn (without using the hard drives?)

Yes, replace the CD drive. Of course the Sony drive also plays and burns CD, and yes, you can go DVD to DVD. Enable DMA for the drives or the IDE (Windows XP).
