    Hello all,

I am facing a weird problem with subtitle workshop. As I load the mpg file kai start writing the subtitles everything works ok. When I finish with the subtitles (in srt format) and I play the movie, although I have correctly synchronized it with the subs, when the movie reaches to the 11th subtitle it looses synchronization.

Might this be a problem of codecs? I have installed ffdshow and klite.

    Thank you.

Is it like the subtitles gradually get more and more out of sync and that by the 11th subtitle, it's completely off? Or is it like the subtitles are all in sync and then SUDDENLY go out of sync on the 11th sub?

I don't think it's a problem with the codecs. If your problem is the former of the two above, then it's likely that you didn't set the frames per second correctly. If I remember correctly, there's an FPS thingie somewhere near the top in Sub Workshop, and you have to change it to whatever framerate your mpg video is.

If I'm wrong, then sorry, I've got nothing else.

KajNrig thank you for your reply and suggestion.
The FPS are set correct.. :( I 've double and triple checked it.

As for the synch, the subtitles work fine up to the 11th subtitle and then it suddenly comes in earlier than it should and then the rest subtitles get in earlier.. If this makes any sense to anybody..

    Thanks again!

It COULD be that the 11th subtitle on just needs a little tweaking in the timing, but I bet you already double- and triple-checked that, too. :)

Then... you could try using another program (Subtitle Processor for instance, or Aegisub) and seeing if it works better with that. Or, if all else fails, since it's just an .srt sub, you could manually edit the times with Notepad.

    KajNrig success!

I tried another mpg and it works fine! So I guess it was the video.. or some subtitle ghost!

As for the tweaking, you guessed correct, I did try it but I didn't think about the manual editing of the srt. Altough I guess I wont help when played with subtitle workshop.

Thank you for your time :)
