I just used this site's excellent guide to convert an AVI file to a DVD movie.

But when I threw the DVD in the player all I saw was a pink bar where I would like to see subtitles.

I really do not know why this appears, but could it be because the AVI was in NTSC format?? My player supports both PAL and NTSC, however. But maybe i'm supposed to do something with the subtitles when they're going on a NTSC film??

Can anyone help me out here?

It makes no difference whether I specify the subtitles as NTSC format subtitles (23,976 FPS) of PAL (25 FPS).

But it looks to be working before i encode to MPEG2, in TMPGenc preview for instance.

BUt when I insert it in the player, pink bar and no text. Any ideas??
