Am trying to synchronize a sub with the video but what is happening is that the few subs are OK but as the video goes on they become out of synch. If I try to synch the later ones the previous ones lose synch. How can I do it? Tks.

Assuming the subs are .srt, load the movie in Subtitle Workshop.
    Load the subtitles.
Play the video and pause it at the place where the actor is speaking the appropriate lines.

In the example, the actor is mouthing the words at the elapsed video time of 17.084 seconds.
The subtitle time (num 7) shows the subtitle appearing at 15.875.
To set the subtitle to the video time, highlight num 7 and all subsequent lines.
Click on the double arrow symbol.

In the second pic, you see that num 7 takes on the value shown for the elapsed time and the subsequent subs change their times too.
Since your subs are gradually drifting off, you have to repeat the sequence as required, then finally save the .srt file.
