I have a backup of a DVD on my hard drive, i used Vobsub to rip to subs on it using 1 of the 2 available .IFO files, but when i use Gordian Knot to compress the movie, it only has subs for half the film. I tried to use Vobsub to rip the subs from the second .IFO file but it doesnt make a file and there is no avaailabkle language to select.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

I downloaded Subrip, but i have 2 .IFO files to choose from, the first is attached to the 1st 2 Vob's of the film, the 2nd .IFO is linked to the 2nd 2 Vob's of the film, problem is that the 2nd .IfO has no language data to select and therefore no subs to rip in the first place.

For the second half of the film (the second set of VOB files) when you watch the second half do you see the subs?

I'm not sure about MPC or PowerDVD, but I know that with Nero ShowTime that if you open a VOB file it can display the subs if they are in there (Ctrl-U). If the subs are present in the VOB file, then even without the IFO file, you can get them out.
