Subtitles not working with windows media player

    i have the avi, and 3 different subtitle files, idx,sub, and one other I cant remember. I enabled subs on the player, but I still cant see them. The subs and movie are in the same folder with the same names...if im not using the best player for subs, what does everybody here use

    You need to have the directshow component installed and active.
    dvobsub, or ffdshow will do it also.

    I personally use VLC Media Player. Its pretty stable and has alot of features rivaling Windows Media Player. I used WMP for years but now I don't go back after using VLC. Winamp is good alternative too, although it may not be the best.
