Hello Everybody, I am hard of hearing and trying to back up my DVD collection. As some don't have English subtitles I've tried useing ConvertX to DVD 3. I have a srt subtitle file and have followed your guide except subtitles didn't show up when I madw a ISO file with DVD Shrink. Is there something I'm missing? The movie already has english subtitles for french and german parts. I need to put english subtitles in the parts speaking english since I'm hard of hearing. Any help would be great and thanks!

Assuming you want to go from DVD to AVi and back to DVD again:

    You can do two things:
    1. Easiest is to search the internet for subtitles of your movie. Then give them the same name as the movie (so, Titanic.avi and Titanic.srt)
drag both in ConvertX and that's it.
    2. Or, if they're not on the net, then rip the subs out of the DVD files with Avidemux, Vobsubrip or Subrip 154b. I prefer the first tool

The ISO you made DVD Shrink actually contains the real DVD files in a Video TS folder. Extract those, and then you can start on step 2 above.
